HandrailThis series reconstructs sequences of images along handrails in various spaces, capturing both their physical presence and the movement of observation. While the handrails remain still, the fragmented perspectives that wrap around them create a sense of displacement and shifting perception.
The silhouette of each composition mirrors the structure of the handrail itself, extending beyond a single photographic frame. By aligning with the body's movement through space, these works freeze a temporal sequence of time within a static form. The relative distance between the viewer and the handrail becomes embedded in the composition, emphasising the tension between motion and stillness.
Each frame is in the size of a small smart phone display. The physical print is genuine to the means of capturing the images. The work highlights the process of looking as an active experience, transforming fragmented moments into a cohesive yet destabilised visual form.
